Welcome to the Great Hall. This is where your characters will eat, socialize (or not), and most likely get in loads of trouble.

Melanie sat at the teachers' table, looking rather bored. She hated waiting for the other teachers to show up. She watched as some students entered.
Adrienne entered the Great Hall and sat down at a table. She began drumming her fingertips on the table, watching to see if anyone showed up who she recognized.
Carrie had been the first to enter the Great Hall. She sat with a book in her hands. The cover of it looked rather morbid, and it was written by a muggle author. Over the years she had grown fond of muggle authors. And muggle music. And muggle inventions. Though don't get it wrong, she wasn't obsessed as some witches and wizards were, she just found them amusing.

Penelope walked in and looked around. She took a seat and brought out a notebook, quietly she began writing on it.

Acacia entered the Great Hall and walked up to the teacher's table. She saw that there were already students in there and realized she was late. 'Oh well. At least someone is here,' she thought, referring to Melanie already being there. Acacia took a seat beside her and turned to Melanie who looked painfully bored. "Alive, much?"
Zephyr walked into the great hall, looking around at all of the students before heading towards an empty table to sit at. Once he sat, he brushed a strand of his pink hair out of his face and leaned back into his hair, resting his feet on the chair beside him. This made his knee length books visible under his school uniform. Unlike most days, he wore the boots under his uniform that day. He just felt like being normal, well more normal then usual.

Melanie shook her head, "Not in the slightest." She dropped her head on her folded arms. "Wake me up if the students attempt to kill each other- or rather, don't wake me up at all."
Adrienne saw Penelope sit down and begin writing. She turned around a bit in her chair. "What are you writing about?" she asked, something finally catching her attention.

"I think I prefer the second option. If the students start killing each other, I'll just say that we had both been slipped sleeping potion in our drinks and were unable to stop them. It should work well enough for any lawsuit filled against us," Acacia said, laughing. Then she reached out and took her pumpkin juice. She examined it for a few seconds before drinking, paranoid as usually that the students did something to it.

'I'm writing a letter to my parents, Hopefully they will reply this time." She said sadly. "So what are you doing?" She asked Adrienne looked up at the ceiling. "The usual. Drumming my fingers on the table and resisting the urge to set things on fire with my mind." She smirked, glancing at the flower in the center of the table, then looking away. "So why wouldn't they answer?" she asked, her smirk gone now.
Melanie laughed along with Acacia. "We're horrible teachers," she responded, not having anything else to say.
Carrie sat back and crossed her arms over her chest. She was having a mental debate of whether to invade surrounding student's thoughts or not. She settled on not doing it, doubting that they'd have anything more interesting than relationships or rumors to be thinking about.

"My parent's refuse to associate me with their perfect family because of what I am," Penelope said looking at the letter. "So you have pyrokinesis, Neat." She said smiling.

"No. We're amazing teachers. We're teaching the students valuable life lessons. Like, if they don't want to get killed, stop trying to kill each other. If we were to intervene, they would never learn such a valuable lesson," Acacia said, laughing silently. If the students saw her looking remotely normal, they might be rather afraid and she didn't want to scare them. Well, yes she did, but if the students saw her looking happy they would question her authority.
Maegan entered the great hall and saw Carrie sitting with a book in hand. She walked over to Carrie and grabbed the book out of her hand while taking a seat next to her. She then looked at the cover and examined it for a minute before setting it down on the table, successfully losing her page. "Hello!" she said cheerfully.
Zephyr looked around bored for a moment, deciding he planned to talk to someone but was too lazy to get up and do so. Instead, he looked up at the head table and waited for them to start the feast.

Caleb entered the great hall and took his seat at the teachers table. "Hello Ladies." He said to the other teachers.

Jean-Claude entered the Great Hall and looked around at everyone already there. "Ah well..." He walked up and sat at the teacher's table with a yawn.

Professor Alessia Lupa walked into the great hall with an armfull of cellophane wrapped packages. In them a pretty cup and saucer, a wodden stirrer and some loose tea leaves. On top was a note that read "Happy Term, from Alessia Lupa, Divination and Controlling Empathy teacher." She placed one at each place seeting for each Professor. She then saw Professor LeBlanc, and sat next to him. She turned to him and smiled "I hope this seat isn't taken..."

Alessia smiled. She turned to the teachers already seated and said "Oh, just a little beginning of term gift," she said in a cheery tone.
Alessia watched the students file in one at a time. Her voice became lower and a little eerie "I just love looking at all the young minds I'll mold. I can sense the fear in their hearts."
She then turned to Professor Mathers and cheerily said "I just love the first day, don't you?"

Melanie nodded in greeting to the other teachers showing up at the table. She was still incredibly tired and didn't really feel like being here.
Carrie groaned, then smiled tightly. "Thank you for that," she said to Maegan, an air or sarcasm traceable in her voice. "I mean this in the least offensive way possible, but I'm always going to choice my book over talking to people," she said, snatching it back.
Adrienne tapped her foot. "Yeah I do," she answered, "That's really lousy of them, though....so, what kind of powers do you have? Or are you a vampire or werewolf?"

Lorayne entered quietly and sat down in the back tucking her hair quickly before looking at the teachers table. She stayed quiet and folded her arms across her chest blinking slowly. She was not even hungry but she did feel like setting ssomething on fire. She thought for a second. 'what should I set on fire' she thought quickly looking around for a moment not completely sure what yet. She knew she would get in trouble if she did but it didn't fase her a bit.

"Because you have issues. Be alive. I mean, isn't the first day of school just so amazingly fun!" Maegan said sarcastically before dropping her head to the desk and practically falling asleep. Then she lifted her head for about a second during which she said, "By the way, you're on page 124," before she put her head back down and resumed pretending to sleep.

"Your parents should be glad you're not as bad as me," Adrienne added, then turned away from Penelope for a moment. She caught sight of Lorayne and waved her over. "Hey," she greeted, shouting across the hall, smirking darkly. This year would be fun.
Carrie opened her book again, "Only if you consider fun being trapped in your own personal hell. And it's page 123 I'm on. I'd much rather not be social on the first day of school. You'd think after a few hundred years loud obnoxious noise wouldn't get to you," she sighed, "How terribly sad that this is not true...my ears just might bleed from this."

Lorayne smirked and walked over to Adrienne. "Hello" she said smirking.
